In 2020, a Coping Skills Tool Kit was distributed, offering tips on how to deal with the psychological effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns of the time. English Montreal School Board (EMSB) students were invited to share their individual coping strategies, ones that had helped them overcome the challenges of the pandemic, with other fellow students across the EMSB.
Parents at St. Monica Elementary School in NDG were in for a treat recentl, as renowned researcher, professor and award-winning feature writer Dr. Alissa Sklar shared her presentation Worried Sick: What Parents & Kids Need to Know about Anxiety. The workshop was held in conjunction with Youth Mental Health Awareness Week.
The Vincent Massey Collegiate (VMC) “Clef Notes” sang for a good cause on Sunday, April 10. The singing group took part in the Just for Kids Foundation Voices 2022 concert at John Rennie High School’s Louise Chalmers Theatre. The annual singing and fundraising event raised mental health awareness and funds for the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
